HUMAN-NEEDS-BASED EVERYTHING

What do needs mean to you? Can you see and feel your own needs – or even read and understand those of others? Why do people act the way they do? Why are some needs more present in us than others? In my experience, I can assure you: all human behavior can be traced back to basic needs.
We spend a large part of our creative, self-fulfilling, productive lives in our work environments. These environments – our workspaces – have a huge impact on our physical and mental health as well as our performance in the work context. In order to design socially sustainable and purposeful work environments and give users what they really need, their needs must first be examined.
This is exactly what Guido Beier set out to do years ago – and in his great work he developed the 77 HUMAN NEEDS system. This system forms the basis of many internal transformations, especially in large companies, when it comes to new work cultures.
I love hopping around Germany, even if it sometimes pulls me back into my comfort zone at the moment. The last trip to Munich felt like a small breakthrough for me 💫. I really appreciate being part of this creative, heterogeneous, inspiring and progressive group of experts that Guido brought together. I learned so much, was in a flow state several times (that one with goosebumps where you can't sit still 😁), and I reflected an incredible amount. In my intuitive, highly sensitive state of mind, some insights came back to me days later in a wide variety of situations – they projected themselves directly onto my overcrowded working mom life.
In these intensive two days, we managed to create a safe space with great trust 🌱. Although we all had such different backgrounds and life stories, we treated each other with respect, curiosity and appreciation – and were able to dive into the workshop with genuine anticipation. Despite the office context, I felt completely emotionally uninhibited afterwards 😌. Guido did a wonderful job of preparing the flow, integrating a wonderful tea meditation and providing us with a mindful, local tofu lunch.
Our team also has needs – and we will soon be filling them spatially (in the spatial dimension, at least 😜). I'm really looking forward to entering into a deep exchange with these wonderful people, sharing expertise and staying connected.
Understanding human needs is the basis of every strong relationship, every transformation, every progressive development. Especially today – when new generations need to be picked up to save the labor market, when jobs and entire job profiles are insecure, when politics need to be rapidly rethought – our needs are the foothold on the right path. And don't be afraid to open yourselves up to this – you are not alone.
I am looking forward to what is to come and am confident that I can shape this world in a needs-oriented way. I'm starting with spaces – and of course with myself.
